It’s been a tough session, but the Proteas are creeping toward a massive series win over India.

The visitors started the day with some immaculate bowling by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. They asked a lot of questions, but couldn’t get the breakthrough. Even though Keegan Petersen was dropped by Pujara at first slip.

Unfortunately, KP couldn’t convert the second life into a maiden test century. Shardul Thakur getting his scalp, with young Protea chopping the ball onto his stumps.

The wicket brought about a run drought. The following 5-overs came with just two runs. Temba Bavuma eventually took the wind out of India’s sails, hitting two beautiful boundaries off the bowling of Bumrah.

At Lunch, South Africa are 171 for 3 (55) and need another 41-runs for victory.

Bavuma – 12* (28)

Van der Dussen – 22* (72)

Shardul Thakur – 1/22 (11)
