Proposals have been made for upgrades to Voortrekker Road in Maitland
According to the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas, the proposal includes the upgrade and widening of Voortrekker Road between Fourth Avenue and Camp Road. This is aimed at improving the way people move through the area. He says members of the public can view the proposed designs and submit their comments, suggestions and recommendations for consideration from now until Friday, 16 October 2026.

“We want to reduce congestion, improve public transport, make it safer and easier for people walking and cycling, and ensure that goods and services can move more efficiently,” said Quintas.
