Ramaphosa’s comments mark the 20th anniversary of the Durban World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, which was held in 2001. It was at this conference that countries committed to addressing racial discrimination and xenophobia at all levels of government. Ramaphosa told UN delegates strong action is needed.
