President Cyril Ramaphosa has ramped up his call for wealthier countries to share their surplus Covid-19 vaccines, and for poorer countries to be enabled to produce its own vaccines.

President Ramaphosa was speaking after a working visit to France, where he participated in the Summit on the Financing of African Economies hosted by President Emmanuel Macron. African leaders discussed vaccine production and distribution, with Ramaphosa emphasising the importance of the temporary waiver of the World Trade Organisation regulations on intellectual property.
