Maurice’s career took off in 1996 when he joined a community radio station, Radio Hoogland (now Defunct), in Bloemfontein. From late 1996 to early 1998, Maurice worked for OFM (Radio Oranje), until he was lured to Gauteng by Jacaranda 94.2FM.
He moved to Cape Town in February 2013 to join Smile 90.4FM. Maurice co-presents Smile Drive, with Angel Campey, weekdays from 3pm to 6pm.
Outside of radio, Maurice is an acclaimed actor. He landed his first major TV role in 1998 in the SABC 2 TV series Voete van Goud. Maurice has featured in a variety of TV Series and Movies over the years, including, Generations, Feast of the Uninvited, Beat The Drum, Chappie and The Recce… to name a few.
Besides acting, Maurice was a presenter on SABC 2 for Pasella, Kwêla and 50/50. He is also an accomplished Master of Ceremonies and has served on the panel of judges for the Tempo Afrikaans Music Awards, the Huisgenoot Songwriting competition and Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards.
