Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa has called on South Africans to use their freedom and vote out public representatives who abuse their office and resources meant for communities. With the local government elections about 6 months away, Ramaphosa used the official Freedom Day address, to address service delivery challenges and corruption in local government.

An investigation is underway after 4 people died when 2 aircraft collided mid-air near Grasmere in Gauteng, on Monday night. The South African Civil Aviation Authority says its members were still on the scene yesterday afternoon, to collect evidence.

Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa is expected today and tomorrow to answer questions about the ANC, before the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into state capture. With his second appearance on 13 & 14 May, he will have to answer questions in his capacity as president of the country.
