Political parties will have to, in future, declare their sources of funding, after President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier today signed into law the Political Party Funding Act of 2018. The Act comes into effect on 1 April. The Act will regulate public and private funding of political parties and requires that donations be disclosed by parties and donors to the Electoral Commission of South Africa.
