The Minister of Health, Dr. Joe Phaahla says South Africa has, for weeks, been preparing for the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He urged South Africans not to panic and to remain calm.
This, after the announcement late last week that the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron, had been recorded here.
In reaction, more than 30 overseas countries implemented travel restrictions on South Africa.
The Minister says the country has done enough preparation to deal with this new variant and the expected fourth wave.
