Oscars 2025: Anora wins big, Zoe Saldaña makes history

The film, Anora, known as a “strip-club Cinderella story”, won big at the Oscars – leaving with 5 golden statuettes. Among those was a win for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Editing.

 

“The Brutalist” left with three awards, the second most wins.

 

The 2025 Academy Awards featured a star-studded ensemble of Hollywood’s finest, with Demi Moore, Ariana Grande and Zoe Saldaña dazzling on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

 

Saldaña made history by becoming the first American actor of Dominican descent to win an Oscar. She won for Best Supporting Actress in Emilia Perez. This is also her first Oscar.
