The City’s Directorate of Water says it delivers water to thousands of residents on a daily basis, in 173 informal settlements, to help in the fight against the spread of covid-19.
Mayco member at the Directorate, Xanthea Limberg, says the deliveries form part of the City and National Government’s response to the covid-19 pandemic.
Limberg says since the project was launched in March this year, more than 100-million litres of water has already been delivered.

Since the start of the national lockdown, the City has been providing a temporary emergency water delivery service to help communities in informal settlements with access to water for basic hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
