Robotics with a difference
Team Checkmate, a dedicated and passionate FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics team comprised of six children aged 10 to 12 from Cape Town, South Africa. Some learners at Panorama Primary are part of the team and we spoke to Jair February of them who recently designed a chess board with a difference.
Checkmate demonstrate not only their technical proficiency but also their commitment to teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving. As the proud representatives of Cape Town and South Africa, their journey to the FLL international finals is a source of great pride. But it does come at a cost with travel expenses, registration fees, accommodation, and equipment costs. They have set up a BackaBuddy page called BK Robotics 2 Australia.
