The Western Cape Education Department says disciplinary action is being taken against a teacher at Harvester Primary School in Westridge, Mitchells Plain, following allegations that she sexually harassed a grade 7 pupil.

According to reports, the teacher initially made contact with the student on a video social media platform, TikTok, and then moved their communication to WhatsApp, where an exchange of messages continued.

It is alleged that the teacher shared a revealing video of herself showing her breasts, with her face clearly visible in the video. It has been reported that the learner responded to the video with another video showing himself and his brother playing video games.

The South African Police Service has confirmed to Smile FM that Lentegeur police opened a sexual harassment case for further investigation. According to police, the incident took place on 26 May 2025.

Authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made as yet, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

“Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is kindly requested to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
