Mitchells Plain gun violence continues after four people shot in Lentegeur

Mitchells Plain residents continue to live in fear as more gun violence has erupted in the area in recent days, leaving at least three people dead.

 

Lenteguer police are investigating three murder cases and one attempted murder case after four people were shot in the area in separate incidents on Sunday and Monday.

 

In the first incident, Lentegeur police attended a complaint in Lobellia Street on Sunday, and found the bodies of a male and a female who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

 

According to Police Seargant Wesely Twigg, the victims were declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. Another male who also sustained injuries was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

 

The suspects fled the scene, and they are yet to be arrested and the motive for this attack forms part of the police investigation.

 

Twigg added that the circumstances surrounding this incident form part of the police investigation.

 

In the second incident, a man was shot and killed in Salvia Street on Monday in what is believed to be a gang-related shooting.

 

Lentegeur police registered a murder case for investigation following the shooting incident on Monday morning. Police members attended to the crime scene where they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

 

According to reports, unknown suspects entered the premises and opened fire on the victim. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by paramedics.

 

The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.
