PRASA Metrorail is boosting its train services for the Springboks vs Barbarians Clash tomorrow in Cape Town. PRASA Metrorail Western Cape has announced it’s enhancing its train services in support of the highly anticipated Springboks vs Barbarians rugby match set for Saturday, June 28, 2025. The game takes place at the DHL Stadium in Green Point.
PRASA Metrorail Boosts Train Services for Springboks vs Barbarians Clash
To ensure safe and efficient travel for fans, Metrorail will operate its normal weekend schedule with additional trains on the Cape Flats and Southern Lines. These enhancements include:
One additional inbound train to Cape Town on the Cape Flats Line before the match.
Six extra outbound late-night trains post-match, serving both the Cape Flats and Southern Lines.

Springbok rugby fans to benefit from extra trains on match day
Fans attending the match, which kicks off at 17:10, are encouraged to plan their journeys early and make full use of the extended services. Normal train fares will apply.

Raymond Maseko, PRASA Metrorail Western Cape Regional Manager, has expressed the region’s commitment to supporting national events. He says additional security measures will also be in place on board trains and at key stations.
