Man arrested after Tafelsig woman found burnt to death

Mitchell’s Plain Police are probing a case of murder after the body of a woman was found burnt to death in Tafelsig on Friday.

 

 

It’s believed the woman and her partner had a quarrel after which he doused her with petrol and set her alight. Authorities have confirmed that the incident is domestic-related.

A 64-year-old man was arrested, and he is expected to appear in the local magistrates’ court today. Police spokesperson says officers responded to the crime scene at around 6am.

 

 

“Police responded to the scene early morning and discovered the burned body of the victim who was later declared as dead by medical personnel who attended to the scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the possible cause of death,” said Pojie.
