LOCKDOWN PHASE 2: ONLY SLIGHT AMENDMENTS MADE TO THE REGULATIONS

Published on

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has given updates on regulations pertaining to the extension of the lockdown in SA.

She says alcohol is not allowed to be transported, unless it is for the production of hand sanitiser.

For parents who are separated, but need to share child-care, you have to have a court order, or a letter from the family advocate, or a birth certificate to show your connection to the child.

She says coal mines have now been opened and other mines will be re-opened incrementally.

Plumbers and electricians, and other artisans that offer essential services, are also allowed to be called out. Essential goods will now include hardware, components and supplies needed by tradespeople for emergency repairs at homes.

Dlamini-Zuma emphasised that the lockdown will not be stopped abruptly, but rather gradually lifted with weekly updates to the regulations.
