The family of Adrian Le Roux, the youngest victim who died in a crash with his friends in Brackenfell at the weekend, are struggling to come to terms with his passing.

Adrian was a 15-year-old learner at Monument Park High School when the car he was in crashed into a tree along Cecil Morgan Drive in Brackenfell on 2 August, resulting in his death and the deaths of three other teenagers.

Speaking to Smile 90.4FM, his uncle, Malcolm, shared that the family is heartbroken.

Malcolm said a “memorial run” will start at the Ipic Shopping Centre in Soneike, Kuils River, on Thursday, 7 August 2025, at 18:00.

He shared that the memorial is being held in support of Adrian’s mother, a single mother now left with only her young daughter. He hopes to bring together both emotional and financial support to help her through this heartbreaking time.

Malcolm said the affected families are supporting each other, as they have now become a “new family” sticking together in this difficult time.

He also spoke on the Ryan O’Connor Breakfast Show on Wednesday morning. Listen below:
