LISTEN: International relations expert on what Putin wants, the global impact of Ukraine invasion

Professor John Stremlau, Honorary Professor of International Relations, at the University of the Witwatersrand, spoke to Benito Vergotine on The Honest Truth on Thursday evening about the current Russia Ukraine crisis.

He says Russian President Vladimir Putin holds a historical grudge following the collapse of the Soviet Union and is ‘hell bent’ on getting Ukraine under his control. He says the events of the next few days will determine how the conflict escalates, but it could have dire implications for South Africans at the petrol pump, as the price of Brent Crude oil has skyrocketed over the past few days.
