Power-utility Eskom says the first of 6 new, replacement steam generators have arrived at the Koeberg nuclear power-station.

Three of the generators arrived at the Cape Town harbour this week, and will be installed into Koeberg Unit 1, between February and June of next year.

Eskom spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha, says the installation of the generators will extend the power station’s operating-life by another 2 decades.
