The Cape Chamber of Commerce & Industry has called for improved law-enforcement, to help protect local businesses from crime-syndicates.
President of the Chamber, Janine Myburgh, says a recent survey shows that Cape Town-business owners have reported a drastic increase in crime, with up to 60% of respondents saying they have fallen victim to crime.
Myburgh says up to 20% of respondents say they have fallen victim to extortion.
