Level 3 to see in the New Year in South Africa

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that Level 3 of the lockdown will be implemented from midnight tonight, for a period of at least two weeks.

All indoor and outdoor gatherings, except funerals, and other limited exceptions such as restaurants, museums, gyms and casinos, will be prohibited for 14 days.

A maximum of 50 people are allowed to attend funerals and there must be social distancing.

The curfew is adjusted from 21:00 to 06:00.

Non-essential establishments must close at 20:00. Alcohol sales will not be allowed.

Further hotspots have been announced including the City of Cape Town, West Coast, the Winelands, the Overberg and Central Karoo.

ALL Beaches, dams, lakes, rivers, public parks (except where access control can be implemented), and public swimming pools will be closed.
