Learn the art of brining, curing and spicing this year at the Time Out Market Cape Town. A special event will be held this Heritage Day at Time Out Market Cape Town. It will be hosted by Chef Vusi Ndlovu, whose restaurant is called Mlilo and is 1 of 13 kitchens at the Market.

Those attending will get to enjoy a 3-course tasting menu, which will be thoughtfully designed to incorporate each of the mentioned culinary methods. In this way, you can empower yourself with the tools to elevate your own braai experience at home.

To celebrate Heritage Day this year, Chef Ndlovu of Mlilo at the Time Out Market Cape Town will take attendees on a journey to learn the art of brining, curing, and spicing.

 

He will demonstrate the results of these techniques and show guests how to enhance their dishes at home.

Chef Ndlovu was born in Zimbabwe and raised in Pretoria, His culinary adventures began at a hotel, where he worked on the egg buffet.

He gained invaluable experience from renowned Chef Higgs and he then went to Belgium to work at the renowned restaurant, In de Wulf.

According to the organizers, his restaurant at the Market offers a culinary journey through the diverse heritage of South Africa. The menu celebrates the ways in which fire has been incorporated into cooking across the African continent. This is from the traditional Zulu shisanyama to the Kenyan classic nyama choma as well as everything in between.
