Kitchen disasters – we’ve all had them. Even the best home cooks have their moments and one of those people is Bobby. He nearly burned down his house with a humble sweet potato, some olive oil and a microwave.

After Bobby’s sweet potato fiasco Cape Town tried to make him feel better with some stories of their own. Smile Breakfast listeners got in touch to tell us about how they had some disasters of their own. It turns out there are a million ways to make an explosive device in the kitchen.

Sometimes incidents in the kitchen can be blamed by the stove, an appliance, or an electrical fault. But there are times when human error can’t be ignored. Especially when it involves the bottle. Lindy has learned not to drink and cook.
