Justin Bieber has confirmed that for now, he has suspended his Justice World Tour. The Canadian singer was meant to travel and perform in South Africa with shows scheduled in Cape Town on 28 September and Johannesburg on 1 October.
Big Concerts has responded to the abrupt move, wishing Justin a speedy recovery.
We can’t wait to see him back on the road and we’re standing by for further updates which we will share with you as the South Africa dates approach. If the South African leg of the tour gets cancelled, all ticket holders will receive a full refund.
In his Instagram post, the Canadian superstar says that he has to make his health a priority. Earlier this year he confirmed that he is battling Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
“As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North America leg of the Justice Tour. After resting and consulting my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe to continue with the tour,” he says.
The Justice World Tour was initially set to pick up in early December 2022 and January 2023, with an end date in late March 2023 in Poland.
“I’m going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better. I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of justice to the world,” said Bieber.
Belieber’s will know that Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is a rare disorder and that it affects the patients face which can inflame and paralyze the facial nerve.
Beiber tried to maintain his tour dates as far as possible: “This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio [de Janeiro] and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil. After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realised that I need to make my health a priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being, I’m going to be OK, but I need some time to rest and get better.”
He might still, at the last minute announce that he will be performing in South Africa – but for now his tour is on a break.
