Aspen: Johnson and Johnson to provide 300 000 vaccines for South African teachers within days

Published on

The pharmaceutical company Aspen, based in Gqeberha, says Johnson and Johnson will provide 300 000 doses for South African teachers, within the next few days.

In a statement, Aspen says it will also release doses made with ingredients not impacted by the contamination events at Emergent BioSolutions in Baltimore.

Johnson and Johnson is also expected to deliver “substantial quantities of compliant, finished” jabs to replace the 2 million doses that can’t be used.

In July, Aspen will release more doses that are currently in production.
