Afghanistan, ranked 10th in the ODI’s and 8th in Twenty20 Internationals.
The team however features a group of great young players captained by the all-rounder Gulbadin Naib. The gamechanger for the Afghan outfit could be the 20-year-old leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who many believe is the most valuable play-maker for the squad.
The Afghans made their World Cup debut in 2015 against Bangladesh where they were defeated by 105 runs. They were knocked out of the tournament in the opening round.
They have clearly improved since then, beating Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the 2018 Asia Cup, and drawing against eventual champions India.
