Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says the country has recorded 1 422 new Covid-19 cases in the latest 24-hour monitoring period. At the same time, 58 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded, increasing the death toll to 52 846. Mkhize says the recovery rate remains at 95%, with more than 1.4-million people who have so far recovered, out of the more than 1.5-million, who were infected with the virus. The number of health workers vaccinated by 6.30pm last night, stands on more than 263 000.
