Health Minister Joe Phaahla has announced a series of incentives for people to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
He says people, 60 years and older, who go for their vaccinations in November, will receive a R100 grocery voucher after their vaccination.
The voucher will be SMS’ed to the cell phone number they registered with on the EVDS. People can redeem the vouchers at shops like Shoprite and Checkers.
Meanwhile, Nandos has also donated 1000 vouchers of R500 each that will be awarded to the 15 best performing vaccination teams in each province. Each member of a winning team will receive a voucher.
The R100 shopping vouchers are sponsored by:
– DG Murray Trust
– Alan Gray Financial Services
– Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
– The Elma Vaccines Foundation
– Michael and Susan Dell Foundation
Phaahla added that Covid-19 pop-up vaccination sites have been set up at at least 1 000 voting stations across South Africa.
Once a person has voted on Monday, they can proceed to the pop-up site to be registered and vaccinated.
Uber will provide R100 vouchers to healthcare workers to get to pop-up vaccination sites to vaccinate people on election day
