Grade R boy kidnapped in Kensington

Police have confirmed that a 6-year-old boy has been been kidnapped in Kensington.

Mohamed Shahnawaaz Asghar was reportedly nabbed by six suspects near his home this morning.

Little Asghar is reportedly a student at Hidayatul Islam Primary School in the area. According to his mother, the incident happened on their way to the institution.

Police spokesperson Andre Traut says that the six suspects fled the scene in Kensington, with the Grade R boy and are yet to be arrested.

The investigations are continuing this morning.

Due to the sensitive nature of our investigation, we will not be disclosing any further information regarding the incident at this premature stage.
