The South African Government should enact more robust legislation to prevent more young people from becoming addicted to nicotine.

The National Council against Smoking says that failure to properly regulate products such as e-cigarettes could risk the creation of a new generation of smokers in the country.

The NCAS’s Dr. Sharon Nyatsanza says many children in SA start smoking from as young as nine.

Nyatsanza says getting addicted to nicotine holds many negative consequences for young people’s health.
