Four police officers have been suspended in the wake of the fire that gutted the historic National Assembly building.

Lieutenant General Sam Shitlabane, the head of the Protection and Security Services, yesterday briefed the Standing Committee on Financial Management of Parliament on the police investigation into the fire. Shitlabane said a departmental investigation has begun into the officers who were on duty from 31 December 2021.
