Four men killed in separate shooting incidents

At least four men have been killed in separate shooting incidents in the Province over the weekend. Western Cape Police had their hands full attending to these incidents.

The one shooting was in Stellenbosch, where officers on Saturday night found the body of a 36-year-old man at a soccer stadium in Kayamandi. He had several gunshot wounds. Also on Saturday, members found the body of a 19-year-old man on the roof of a premises in Retreat. The teenager has 1 gunshot wound to his chest.

Killed: A body was found at a stadium in Stellenbosch

 

Sergeant Wesley Twigg says in 2 other incidents in Wesbank and Nooitgedacht, another 2 men, a 57 and a 29-year-old, were found fatally wounded. In all of the cases, no one was arrested.

Sergeant Wesley Twigg explains: “The police registered a murder case for investigation after the body of a 19-year-old man was found on the roof of a premises in Beethoven Street, Retreat, on Saturday, 24 May 2025 at about 20:50.”

 

Shooting incident in Retreat

 

He says, according to reports, police members were called to the crime scene where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his chest. Twigg added that the victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.
