The Western Cape Police have arrested two foreign national suspects in Goodwood on Sunday, after officers found drugs worth over R54 million at their house.
According to police, members attached to Operation Restore received information which led them to a residence in Molteno Street, Goodwood, where they initiated a search of the premises.
During the search, the officers found and seized 6kg of heroin, which was found in a cupboard in one of the rooms. The occupant of the room, a 32-year-old Tanzanian national, was arrested and charged with dealing in Heroin worth an estimated street value of almost R1 million.
Officers then searched another bedroom where they found 100grams of heroin with an estimated value of about R16 000, which led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Burundi national for the possession of drugs.

According to police spokesperson, Lt Col Malcolm Pojie, while processing the suspects, the officers received further information about more drugs hidden at the residence.
The members expanded the search, leading to the discovery of 145kg of tik and 16kg of heroin found in the roof of the residence, worth an estimated street value of R53,3 million.
This brought the total value of drugs found at the residence to R54.3 million.
According to Pojie, the two suspects are scheduled to make their court appearance in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
“Investigation in this matter is conducted by Narcotics Section located within the provincial Organised Crime Unit detectives,”
