The SPCA has launched an investigation following the discovery of five cats that were found beheaded in Hanover Park earlier this week. The gruesome discovery of the dismembered pets was made on Lansur Road by residents. The Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s Belinda Abraham has called on members of the community to come forward with information.

“We are so disturbed and so upset by this horrific act of cruelty,” says the Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s Belinda Abraham.

Abraham says their inspectors are investigating the case, but they urgently need more information. They are appealing to anyone who knows where the remains of the cats are buried or anyone who has information that could help them identify a suspect to please come forward. She says even the smallest detail could prove to be vital.

Abraham added, “Your report can be made anonymously.”

Alleged cat killers sought

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the local Community Policing Forum, Kashiefa Mohamed, has expressed her condemnation of the cat killings. She has called it a shocking act of cruelty and added that the perpetrators should be sent to jail.
