The group of Western Cape matriculants, who this year will sit for the Marine Sciences examinations, will be the first in the country and Africa to write exams in this subject.
Western Cape Education MEC, Debbie Schäfer says the subject was introduced as a pilot-project at three of the province’s schools in 2019.
She says the subject is taught in partnership with the Two Oceans Aquarium.
