Ever gotten rid of something you never intended of parting ways with? It happens to the best of us and time might not make the mistake any less powerful. There are lessons to be learned here: Don’t put your diamond earrings, false teeth, or prescription contact lenses in places they don’t belong.

 

 

If this was you don’t feel too bad. At least you didn’t throw away R33 million rand. That’s exactly what a woman from New York did in 1991 when she binned a winning lottery ticket that, at the time, would have bagged her around $10 million.

Think of the most difficult conversation you’ve ever had to have with your boss. Now throw that thought away because it probably doesn’t come close to having to explain why his or her mom’s ashes ended up in the bin because of you:
