Eskom to keep the lights on until Easter

Published on

Eskom will be keeping the lights on until Easter. The power utility says the reprieve is thanks to the sustained available generation capacity, as well as the expected low demand over the impending long weekend.

Rolling power cuts will remain suspended until Sunday at 4pm. Another update will be issued on Sunday to provide residents with an outlook for next week.

Eskom’s spokesperson Daphne Mokwena added that the evening peak demand for this evening is expected to be 17 465 MW.
