Lace up your shoes and mark your calendars because the 12th Annual Slave Route Challenge Powered by Brimstone is back! Scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, at the iconic Grand Parade in Cape Town, this event promises an exhilarating experience for all participants.

Organised by Brimstone Itheko Sport AC and sanctioned by Western Province Athletics and Athletics South Africa, the Slave Route Challenge Powered by Brimstone is more than just a race – it’s a celebration of Cape Town’s vibrant heritage, culture, and community spirit. The route itself pays homage to Cape Town’s slave history, recognising the invaluable contribution early slaves made to building a united and culturally diverse society.

With a line-up of activities catering to all fitness levels, including a 21.1km Half Marathon, a 10km Run, a 10km Big Walk, and a 5km Fun Run/Walk, there’s something for everyone.
