Disaster risk management teams in the city remain on standby to deal with any emergency, brought on by strong gale force winds.

This as the South African Weather Service has warned of a cut-off low-pressure system expected to affect the Western Cape this weekend. The public and small stock farmers have been advised that there’s a risk of disruptions due to the strong coastal and inland winds, very rough seas and widespread thundershowers. The Head of Communication at the Department of Transport and Public Works, Jandre Bakker has asked motorists to be careful on the wet roads.
