Deputy National Police Commissioner Bonang Mgwenya has appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on charges of corruption, fraud, theft and money laundering. Mgwenya was arrested in a sting operation early this morning, in connection with the supply of warning lights for police vehicles. The 2017 tender was valued at almost R200 million, although only R65 million was paid to the service provider.
