The City’s Training and Development Department has extended an invitation to students who live in Cape Town and are registered at accredited academic institutions, including TVET Colleges, to apply for bursaries.

The application window for City bursaries closes this Friday, 10 October. The bursaries cover registration, tuition, and examination fees, as well as capped allowances for study aid, transport, and meals.

The Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Theresa Uys, says they are always on the lookout for new talent, and these bursaries come with a year-for-a-year service obligation period, which will ensure graduates also gain hands-on work experience once they have graduated.

Bursary applications will be assessed on academic merit as well as against the City’s scarce skills list of needs.
