That would be the last possible date for the Electoral Commission of South Africa to hold the elections following a judgment by the Constitutional court. News24 is reporting that during a heated moment, while rubbishing allegations by opposition parties that the reopening, by the IEC, of the candidate registration process was to the benefit of the ANC, the party’s deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte inadvertently confirmed 1 November as the date to be proclaimed by Dlamini-Zuma.
