Consumers should start looking at installing alternative sources of energy in their homes, as there appears to be no end in sight to electricity hikes or loadshedding. This is the message from Hohm Energy, which assists homeowners and businesses to go solar. From 1 April, Eskom customers started paying 9.61% more for power, while City of Cape Town customers face a 9.5% rise in electricity from 1 July. Hohm Energy’s Matthew Cruise says the pressure on consumers will only increase over the next few years.
