The City of Cape Town’s Directorate of Urban Mobility has invited residents to participate in a survey to determine how residents commute to DHL Stadium.
The survey will commence today, 5 September 2022, to gather information about residents’ commuting patterns and travel behavior when traveling to events held at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
The data will assist the City’s Urban Mobility Directorate with transport-related planning for big events held at the stadium.
The survey will run until 16 September 2022, and is available through the following link: .
The data will assist the City to plan better for future transport-related needs and interventions pertaining to big events held at the DHL stadium.
Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas, says the more the Directorate knows about travel patterns and behavior of sports fans, the better they can prepare for future events.
This will benefit commuters as the City will be able to improve its planning and the supply of transport services.
Those who participate in the survey will be requested to provide information about their demographics and travel behavior.
For example, some of the questions in the online survey will focus on:
• Where the person lives – this is to determine the point of departure when traveling to the DHL stadium
• Which events and how often the person attends events at the stadium
• How they travel to the DHL Cape Town Stadium for an event and why
• The duration of their trip to and from the stadium
• Where they park when attending an event at the stadium
Furthermore, the data that is collected will not be shared with any third parties outside of the City.
