China has vowed to fight to the very end in an attempt to stop Taiwanese independence, warning that interference is futile – stoking already soaring tensions between the United States over the self-ruled island. The two global superpowers have been stuck in a growing war of words over the democratic island, that Beijing views as part of its territory.
