PRASA Western Cape has partnered with SAFA to support the Bafana Bafana international friendly against Panama at the DHL Stadium on 31 March 2026, by providing affordable train services, park & ride facilities and heightened security for fans travelling to the showpiece.

The People’s Train (Blue Train) will be deployed with additional services on match day, to accommodate the expected surge in supporters.

Event train tickets are priced at just R20 – a cost-effective, congestion-free alternative to driving.

Park & Ride Facilities

Supporters are encouraged to park at any of the secure, 24-hour-monitored facilities along the Northern and Southern Lines and connect to the stadium by train.

This initiative reduces road congestion and improves public safety around the venue.

  • Kenilworth – public parking opposite the station
  • Heathfield – PRASA secure parking
  • Lakeside – PRASA secure parking
  • False Bay – PRASA secure parking
  • Fish Hoek – public parking opposite the station and at the beach

Northern Line (Park & Ride):

  • Kuils River
  • Brackenfell
  • Kraaifontein
  • Bellville
  • Tygerberg
  • Vasco

Commuter Safety and Post-Match Services

PRASA Western Cape Protection Services will also collaborate with law enforcement agencies to enhance security at all stations and parking areas.

Supporters are advised to arrive early to secure parking and allow ample travel time.

Following the final whistle, additional trains will be available to ensure fans can get home safely. Early arrival at stations after the match is encouraged to minimise congestion.

Rail Advocacy and Fan Engagement

In the lead-up to the match, PRASA Western Cape and SAFA will run public activations and
awareness campaigns across the Western Cape, championing passenger rail as the preferred mode of transport.

The campaigns will spotlight the convenience, safety and affordability of train travel – and rally fans behind Bafana Bafana.

Regional Manager Raymond Maseko said:

“PRASA Western Cape is proud to partner with SAFA in support of Bafana Bafana. Through additional train services, affordable fares and secure Park & Ride facilities, we are committed to providing a safe, affordable and convenient travel experience for supporters. We urge fans to travel by rail on match day – it eases road congestion, enhances the experience, and keeps our communities connected. PRASA Western Cape is proud to make its services available at major sports events.”
