The City of Cape Town has advised of water supply disruption to Bo-Kaap, Camps Bay, Clifton, Fresnaye, and Tamboerskloof.

The department will be finalising the reinstatement of the water supply pipeline from the Kloof Nek Reservoir that was damaged by a falling tree earlier in September this year. These areas have been supplied via a temporary arrangement since the incident, as structural repairs on the pipe from Kloof Nek Reservoir would take some time to complete.

This will result in the disruption of the water supply to these affected areas from 22:00 on Thursday 23 December 2021 until 04:00 on Friday 24 December 2021.

Mayco Member for Water and Sanitation, Zahid Badroodien says: “Shutting down the water supply to the Bo-Kaap, Camps Bay, Clifton, Fresnaye and Tamboerskloof areas is necessary to allow the maintenance crews to do the coupling of the newly-repaired pipeline safely. Careful consideration has been given to the work to ensure that it is done at a time that is least disruptive to our consumers.”
He adds: “A water tanker will be stationed in the parking area opposite Freedom Court in Astana Street in the Bo-Kaap to provide water for domestic purposes where required.”
