Cape Town traffic-offenders nabbed & fined

The City’s Traffic Services have issued a stern warning to motorists who continue to break traffic-rules and says offenders will be apprehended and severely punished.

Mayoral committee member at the City’s Directorate of Safety and Security, JP Smith says traffic officers are, on a daily basis, being inundated with complaints about people drag-racing, misbehaving taxi drivers, and drunk drivers.

Smith says almost 100 people have been arrested, while more than 3,700 fines have been issued for traffic offences on the City’s roads over the past week.

He says efforts are have been ramped-up to apprehend and fine traffic offenders.
