Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says Eskom’s planned 20.5% electricity tariff increase this year will further limit struggling businesses’ ability to operate profitably and will destroy any hope of economic recovery.
Hill-Lewis has written to Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter, asking him to withdraw the application for the price hike immediately, or at least bring it in line with inflation.
