Cape Town has been rocked by three triple murders in just over a week. The latest murders were this morning in Montclair, Lentegeur in Mitchell’s Plain. The other two recent ones were Sunday in Delft and last Tuesday in Philippi East. In this morning’s incident, at around 06:00, the bodies of two men and a woman were found. They were in their twenties.
The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General (Advocate) Thembisile Patekile, says, “Gangsterism has no place in our society.”

Their bodies were discovered inside a silver VW Polo on the corners of Hillcrest Road and Parkway. They had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Colonel Andrè Traut says initial reports indicate that the murders could be linked to gang activity. Lieutenant General Patekile has condemned in the strongest terms the senseless act of violence. He has reinforced that the Police’s commitment is unwavering to dismantling gangs and rooting out those who continue to terrorise communities.

He added, “The SAPS will continue to exert pressure on these criminal networks until every individual involved in violent crimes is brought to justice.”
The latest of the recent triple murders
In the other incident, three people were shot and killed in Sand-rivier Street in Leiden, Delft, at 5:30 am on Sunday. The Police say the victims were apparently approached by their killers, and shots were fired at them. The suspects fled the scene and have yet to be arrested. It’s suspected that the motive may be gang-related.
Patekile added, “Detectives have been assigned to the case and are pursuing several leads in a bid to track down those responsible.”
Murders in the Marikana informal settlement
Meanwhile, the police also disclosed last week that officers were called out to a crime scene in Sheffield Road, Marikana informal settlement, at approximately 19:10 on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, where the bodies of three men were found with gunshot wounds. Traut says the victims were aged 27, 30 and 38 years. He said, last week, that preliminary reports suggested that the victims were executed in a cold-blooded manner.
